Our Victorian panelling is ‘Open Backed’ panelling, which literally has perforations in the shape of squares to create the panelled look, with your own wall appearing in the spaces. Once paint is applied to the whole area it is transformed into perfect, seamless panelling.
The taller version of our Victorian Wall Panelling incorporates the bottom rail to give an overall height of 120cm (plus dado rail and your skirting board of course).
With open-backed panelling you may also need ‘framing strips’ to complete the panelled area at the end of a wall run. Please see our Framing Strips page to see if these will be required for your particular project and to add them to your order. Please note if you are using SHORT Victorian you may also wish to run framing strips as a ‘Starter Rail’ immediately above the skirting line as this design does not incorporate a bottom rail.
Victorian Panelling is intentionally more formal, and thus suited to houses where a greater architectural style is present.
Tall Victorian Requires FS2 Framing Strips.
